'Knitting Tension' is a measure in knitting used to determine how many rows and stitches you need in order to come to a specific measurement of knitted yarn with the specific size of needles and the specific yarn. Within my objects it means something completely different. These 5 objects show how tension can occur between hard and soft - knitted ceramic and knitted natural fibres. The aim of these 5 objects is to explore how these knitted ceramics, once soft and full of movement, has now burned away to create a hard and still object that now manipulates the movement of soft knitted yarn.
Materials: Porcelain, Blue/Orange/Green Mohair (75% mohair, 25% silk), Pink Yarn (75% Alpaca, 25% Silk)
