Looking at Green Areas within RHS Bridgewater
These were the grassier parts of the woodland around Bridgewater and I noticed the multiple shades of yellow and green that made up the grass. Within the  woodland areas there was a sound of drilling as well as some birds as heard from the voice recording. Within the woodland there were multiple benches within the more open spaces and there was a range of natural growing trees and grasses that have been kept well due to the large amount of gardeners that I saw throughout the site.
Around the site there was a wide range of leaves and plants. Some of these were in the natural habitat within the soil of the woodland or on show within the walled gardens or in containers next to the Welcome Building. I really liked the shapes of the two bottom plants as they are curved into natural shapes that could be water vessels. The top three photos of the leaves have some nice textures or patterns, this could be something that I could experiment within clay. The yellow grass with the orange stripe in the middle was so striking to me due to the difference in colour compared to the greenery that I had seen up to that point.
I grouped these three photos above as they all had the same colour theme. Although the grass is green, the trees don't have any leaves on them and the close up of this plant is quite dry so it has an interesting form.
These two photos were taken quite close to each other on the patch of grass next to the welcome building. The contrast between both planted is really interesting as it goes from a sharp stick like plant that is very free to a domed and controlled plant with a rigid form.
Looking at Water within RHS Bridgewater
I thought this moss covered swamp had a really interesting form. I was also particularly interested in the branch that was sticking out the swamp because I thought it was interesting at the shape that came out of this.
What I immediately noticed when looking at the lake was the reflection of the trees on the lake and how they were blurred due to the ripples on the water. When sketching the lake I drew what shapes I saw and the different patterns I found. The stream in the woodlands were surrounded by leaves and grass and the water moved faster than the lake, however, the water still had the same blurred reflection.
This pond in the walled gardens had two streams of water feeding into the pond, this meant that there was movement in the water even though the walls around the garden were protecting it from the wind. I was really interested in this little part of the pond where the water seemed to be sucked in. I thought that this was a really interesting form, especially with the reflection in the water having a dark and light part.
RHS Bridgewater Welcome Building
I looked at a range of objects in the shop because I originally thought of creating an object that would be for children. I was drawn to the bright colours on the displays. I also noticed that the packaging was almost entirely cardboard or a reusable tin.
There is a lot of natural light in the welcome building which I might want to make use of within my design.
Overall, in the site there was definitely a calmness when near water, it was quite quiet even though the wind could be heard rustling the trees and around the higher ground. The water created multiple patterns and reflected the trees above it and the sky. The smell was very earthy and I could smell the surrounding muddy paths. The leaves that were along the paths of the wooded areas of the crunched underneath my feet and were a range of colours from brown to orange and yellow. The sound of diggers could be heard from the wooded area as well as the chatter from other people visiting the site.
Inside the Welcome Building there was the smell of hot food and when near the tables you could smell coffee from those who had opted to order a coffee. There was the occasional clatter of crockery whether that was the metal cutlery or the plates the cafe was packed with people chatting and eating food. The outside of the cafe was a little less hectic with less people outside in the colder air. The lake had ducks swimming in it and you could sometimes hear the ruffle of feathers or some drops of water being swept away and there was more to look at, including a part of the site. The shop part of the building had lots of bright and colourful products, the light from the ceiling of the building I think emphasised these brighter colours to make them more noticeable.
