Task 1
Task 3
Task 4
When looking at different artist opportunities I was particularly drawn to competitions because they were normally related to  a topic which I thought was interesting e.g. art inspired by the life of Jane Austen through the Jane Austen House. I am particularly interested in these different opportunities that are related to museums and societies because they normally want work inspired by what they're interested in and I enjoy researching different topics.
I think there could be some photography competitions where I could incorporate ceramics and that could be something I might have to think about in the future when looking at other art opportunities, I might have to incorporate another discipline within ceramics.
When looking at this competition I thought it looked like a good fit for my practice because I have been thinking a lot about texture within my work recently as well as play and the competition calls for interactive art that looks at landscape. I think interactive art would be an interesting discipline to mix with ceramics as touching and feeling the texture of the ceramics could be part of an interactive art experience.
The two above projects are calling for sculpture/installation projects that would have to be quite big. I tend to create smaller pieces within my work so creating sculpture pieces could be a way for me to go out of my comfort zone, especially within ceramics. I like both of the themes, however, I have found a lot of the themes with these competitions relate to nature and I feel like a lot of my work within my course has centred on that and if I were to create pieces inspired by the themes I wouldn't rely on the aesthetic of nature but maybe concentrate on other aspects of the theme like historical or social topics.
